We're heading up to the I-90 to Detroit, where rock n roll never forgets. This is the early goings of the Overlake fall Fall tour! Follow that hashtag for pictures of bands you most likely don't know at clubs you've most likely never been to!
This time around, we're bringing some helpers to generally keep us sane, but also do some driving and merchandising. On this initial leg is my ol' buddy, Jake Luckey. Having him along has already provided a more interesting trip. We spent some time in the bucolic environs of Ashland, Ohio, following our show at the Stone Tavern in Kent, staying at his uncle's spread amid rows of corn, patches of peas, loose gravel roads, and 2 super cute kittens. Then, we went a few minutes away to his mom's farm, visiting some chickens, turkeys, pigs, and 2 dogs. A much-needed fresh-air respite from the rock club circuit.
I've gotten ahead of myself. Our first gig was in Lancaster, Pa., which, unbeknownst to me, is more tha...
Greetings from Nebraska (I think), somewhere on Interstate 80! We've just had a much-needed caffeine stop. My current regimen: coffee, 2 Throwback Mountain Dews. So, we'll probably get to Denver in 45 minutes once I take the wheel.
This is Day 4 of our 4-week sprightly jaunt across the United States of Anxiety! We've packed a whole lotta ups and downs in these 4 days. Tour got off to an auspicious start with a wild show in Columbus in front of many pajama-clad Ohio Staters. We met our old friend "Magic" Mike Casey and a new friend, Lydia Loveless. We shredded the pajama pants off those college kids in an unhinged set. We were feeling good til I went out to the van and discovered some local degenerate had helped themselves to my and Lysa's luggage. ENJOY MY WFMU SHIRTS, MOTHERFUCKER. Total bummer, but luckily our gear was inside the venue. I've resolved to sleep with my drum cases every night, one way or another. I'm one step away from sleeping INSIDE them.
This is for all our NYC folks: on Sunday 6/21, we will be playing with Christopher Owens and EZTV over at Mercury Lounge. Needless to say, we are thrilled to be included on this one. If you don't feel like crossing the Hudson to come to Bayonne on 6/19, I recommend snagging yourself some tickets. As expected, they're going fast.
Happy holidays! As we look back on 2014, we can’t help but feel extremely grateful to all the people who believed in us and took a chance on us, and to everyone who bought our record and came to see us out there, and to all the new friends we’ve made along the way…. and we plan to keep going hard in in 2015. We’ve got a ton of things in the works, including another batch of shows, another tour, some other goodies, and recording our next full-length record, which we hope to get out to you in 2016.
Meanwhile, because everyone is sharing their end-of-year top ten lists of albums or whatever.. we decided to share something a little different. Behold…the Top Five Band Moments of 2014, from each of us.
Getting to meet and shake hands with members of bands who have been majorly important to me since I was a kid. No joke, when we played Athens, Michael Stipe apparently heard our soundcheck and later on told me I was a good singer. Tour honestly could've ended right there and I'd hav...
In just over a week, we will be heading out to the west coast, where we will meet up with lots of old friends and hopefully make a whole bunch of new ones! Putting all this together was no easy feat, so we'd like to thank Living Saints Booking for helping make this a reality for us. We'd also like to thank the people that will be rolling with us, helping out with gear and merch and all sorts of what-have-yous. Be sure to say hi to these folks at our shows... they'll be the ones sitting patiently with the merch, standing guard over the gear, or picking one of the mic stands back up after one of us has knocked it down, and possibly more than once. Dates below.. we're still working on one or two, so follow us on Twitter or Facebook or check the tour page for any updates. You can also follow us on Instagram if you'd like to see what we're up to...

We just love to play shows, and in March, we get to do it with our friends Stuyvesant! Check out our tour dates for more info. This will also be the test run for our new tour van, yes, the standard-issue 12-passenger Ford Econoline.. typically white, except ours is... SILVER. That's right... we're breaking the mold here, people. We've yet to give it a proper name.. heck if you get inspired and have that perfect name.. send it our way. If we use it, we'll put you on the list to one of our shows. And we'll even throw in a button and a sticker. You're practically family.
If we're not totally technically deficient, we'll post from the road.. for now, be sure to catch up with us on Facebook and Twitter to keep up with any changes to times and show updates. See you out there!
We just got this baby to help us get around... A 2004 Ford Econoline 12-passenger E350, tricked out with all sorts of goodies like tires, windshield wipers, even a passenger-side rearview mirror that is actually attached to the van WITHOUT DUCT TAPE. This is pure first-class all the way. Wish us luck and see you soon!
